Farm will carry out fauna inventory

Among the projects for 2024, Fazenda Borges will carry out an inventory of the fauna present on the property, made up primarily of 419 hectares of native Atlantic Forest. Today Borges plants trees in the area close to the Chapel, which is done by guests.

Along with the fauna inventory, the technical analysis of the forest will follow, so that the upper corridor of the forest that surrounds the Chapel can be reforested. This area served as pasture for dairy cattle, created on the farm in the 19th century.

The Farm was acquired 11 years ago and since then, as a business, it has been concerned with acting with sustainability and socio-environmental responsibility. Purpose that drove the entrepreneur even before starting construction of the Hotel.

Borges aims to preserve and also educate about respect for the environment and understanding that without our forests and springs, life becomes impossible on the planet. The Atlantic Forest that still survives in Brazil plays an important role in climate and water quality.

However, between October 2020 and 2021, according to data from Inpe, the Brazilian Atlantic Forest lost the equivalent of 20 thousand football fields (more than 20 thousand hectares) to criminal deforestation actions. It was the second biggest increase in the last six years.

Fazenda Borges is home to this true treasure of all of ours and, when staying at the Hotel, everyone helps in this project. Visit Borges, plant your tree and come back to see it grow. It is a heritage for all of us today and for our descendants.
