The sustainability of its hotel activity is one of the Missions of Hotel Fazenda Borges.
The Farm is home to 419 hectares of native Atlantic Forest and its guests have the opportunity to plant trees in areas that were previously used for dairy cattle, an old activity on the historic farm in the 19th century.
Built with a sustainability project in mind, Hotel Fazenda Borges treats all the water used in its daily life, before returning it to nature. Organic waste is also transformed into natural fertilizer for the vegetable garden and orchard. The water is heated by solar energy and everything is taken care of to preserve nature and its fauna and flora.
Also the animals at Fazendinha, horses, oxen and cows, ducks, chickens, which provide eggs to the kitchen, are all treated with lots of love and health, ensuring their well-being. All of this can be seen on guests’ tours of the Farm.
